Find your origin server address
How to find and enter your origin server address yourself when Weekerp can't find the server it fetches your site from.
The origin server is the server your site actually runs on today. Weekerp receives visitor requests and fetches your site from this server.
In Add a site, if you choose Custom-built or Something else / not sure as where you built your site, Weekerp finds your origin server automatically. In most cases, that's all. The We could not find it automatically screen appears only when it can't be found.
1. Check the value at your domain provider
The value to enter is this site's A record or CNAME record value at your domain provider.
- Log in to your domain provider (Gabia, Cafe24, Cloudflare, etc.) and open the DNS record settings. If the screen shows your provider's name, check there.
- Find the line set for your site address (e.g.
wwwor@). - Copy the value of that line.
- For an A record, it is an IP address (e.g.
203.0.113.10) - For a CNAME record, it is a server address (e.g.
origin.example.com)
- For an A record, it is an IP address (e.g.
2. Enter it in Weekerp
- Paste the copied value into the input field. Even if you paste a full URL (
https://…), only the address is used. - Click Confirm.
Weekerp checks whether your current site opens at that address and moves on to the next step.
