Create categories
How to create categories that group blog posts by topic, set their name, order and featured post, and delete them.
Categories group blog posts by topic. Visitors browse posts by category, and the category code also goes into the address.
Create a category
- In Blog > Categories, click Add category.
- Enter a Name (e.g. Product news).
- Set the Code. It goes into the address, so use only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. If the name is in English, it's filled in automatically. The code can't be changed after it's created.
You can also create one right away with Add a new category in the category field of the post editor.
Edit a category
Change it with Edit on its row.
- Name: Up to 128 characters
- Name per language: Enter a separate name for each blog language. If left empty, the default name is shown
- Order: Smaller numbers come first
Featured post for a category
With Featured on the row, choose one post in that category to pin at the top. Only published posts are shown to visitors.
Delete a category
If you delete a category that contains posts, the posts stay and only the category is removed from them.
