Add a site
The full flow for connecting your live site to Weekerp. Enter the address and we guide you through the rest step by step.
Weekerp handles requests in front of the site you already run. Once your site is connected, you can fix SEO items and see how much AI bots read your site.
Connecting has two stages: Check site and Connect domain. Your progress is saved if you leave midway. Click Continue connecting in the site list to pick up where you stopped.
What you need
- The address of your site as it opens today (e.g.
example.com) - Login details for where you manage your domain (Gabia, Cafe24, Cloudflare, etc.)
1. Enter your site address
- Open Sites in the sidebar and click Connect a site.
- Enter the address of your live site in Site address and click Next.
Weekerp looks at your site and prepares the rest of the details automatically.
If you don't have a site yet, click I do not have a site yet. You can come back and connect after you buy a domain and launch your site. You can't buy domains on Weekerp.
2. Choose where your site was built
On the Where was your site built? screen, choose where you built it.
| Built with | Next step |
|---|---|
| Custom-built · Something else / not sure | Weekerp finds your origin server automatically. If it can't, you enter it yourself. Find your origin server address |
3. Choose your primary address
If you entered a root address like example.com, choose whether www.example.com or example.com is your primary address. If you entered a subdomain like shop.example.com, this step is skipped.
- Weekerp connects both addresses. The one you choose becomes the primary address, and visitors who arrive at the other one are sent to the primary address.
- If your site is already live, choose the same one you use now.
- If your site is new, www is the easiest to connect.
4. Connect your domain
There are two ways to connect. The default is changing nameservers.
| Method | What you do | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Change nameservers | Replace the 4 nameservers at your domain registrar with Weekerp's values | Connect a domain with nameservers |
| Add records (CNAME) | Add one or two records where you manage your domain | Connect a domain with records (CNAME) |
If changing nameservers is hard, click Is changing nameservers hard? You can connect with a CNAME instead. on the screen to switch to the record method.
5. Verify the connection
The Verifying your connection screen checks three things in order. Checking continues even if you close this screen.
- DNS record check (for the nameserver method, the nameserver change check)
- Security certificate issuance
- Site connection check
When all three pass, you move to the All connected! screen. If you see an error, see When the connection fails.
After connecting
- If you connected with nameservers, you now change DNS settings such as mail and subdomains in Weekerp under Sites > Domain. Changes made at your old provider won't take effect. Manage DNS records
- If you used the record method, add the line shown under Finally, add this line on the completion screen so the other address also redirects to your primary address.
- You can go straight to Create a blog from the completion screen.
